Postpartum Assessment & Recovery
Being pregnant and delivering a baby is no joke. Tremendous stress is placed on the joints and tissues during pregnancy. Labor and delivery results in trauma to the tissues, whether vaginal delivery or c-section. Your body needs time to heal after delivering a baby. Your body also needs rehab to restore strength and stability.
The postpartum assessment takes a look at how your whole body is recovering from pregnancy and childbirth. Postural alignment, breathing patterns, diastatsis recti, pelvic floor muscle function and overall strength and stability will be evaluated. A treatment plan will be provided based on the assessment findings. The postpartum assessment is highly recommended for any woman who has delivered a baby, but is especially important prior to returning to fitness or sports-related activities.
